insight How History Affects Our present and future

insight How History Affects Our present and future

Growing up in grade school, we probably did not appreciate the richness of what a good history lesson legitimately teaches us. As we live our day to day lives, we too, are creating history- which is why it is so leading to know and be complicated in what is taking place politically, economically, nationally, locally, and any other leading area to you personally. Possibly by focusing on history, one can realize how personal study and knowledge of events can truly make a disagreement in society. Learning current events along with its history can help us understand three things specifically.

History helps us understand our current situations with a more reasonable eye. We can see how human behavior has affected singular situations. It allows us to own accountability for our own actions as we see results play out from lessons learned before us. This is a mighty tool in inspiring send for the better. Conservative news sites offer a slew of informational articles that correspond to the history of some other event. Learning these will help one be more ready for the future as well.

As we study history, compared to our current situations, we invite new insight to community and people, and the manner in which both were established. This is leading as history is society's only key to holding the data of evidence on how community functions. With times and society's all the time changing, history is the only experiment there is to go off of. Those who take it, personalize it, and learn from it will be closer to problem-solving and looking solutions than those who do not.

The study of history helps us find identity and moral understanding. looking how past experiences were handled helps us to examine our own moral paths. The lack of identity leads to a frailness in the ability to use moral insight to cope a situation.

To teach by example is a common phrase we hear that applies perfectly to insight history and Learning from it to advantage our current situations.

investment Banking and the future of Wall road

investment Banking and the future of Wall road

The current economic meltdown has changed the face of Wall Street, perhaps forever. For decades the Power in the shop had been fueled by high-rolling investment bankers, but look what's happened in the last eight months. Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. Bear Stearns was snapped up by Jpmorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch got bought out by Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley had to convert to bank retention companies just to stay in business. Five major investment banks . . .and then there were none.

At the starting of this year, those five firms had a combined shop value of colse to 0 billion with the top firm, Goldman Sachs, valued at nearly billion. Now the top banks, which are comparatively small boutique firms-Raymond James, Jefferies & Co, Greenhill & Co, Keefe Bruyette & Woods and Piper Jaffray-have a combined shop value of billion, a number that has shrunk by a factor of 20.

Essentially, the global economic urgency has ushered in the era of Universal banking where gigantic financial firms offer every conceivable kind of investment stock and service. Even smaller brokerage firms face being herded under the umbrellas of big banks, or else risk becoming irrelevant.

Historic Realignment of the Industry

When Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley opted to come to be bank retention companies it marked an historic realignment of the financial services manufactures and the end of a securities firm model that had prevailed on Wall road since the Great Depression. But why did they make the change? Partly because it's given both firms entrance to the Federal Reserve's reduction window - the same line of credit that is open to other depository institutions at a lower interest rate.

As bank retention companies, they can also tap into deposits from retail customers. The two firms had already received a temporary financial lifeline from the Fed-the primary Dealer credit Facility-the extra reserves established to bail out Wall road broker-dealers like the Bear Stearns deal in March 2008.

Even though Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are now classified as bank retention companies and are part of the Universal banking model, they'll still be able to engage in investment banking activities. But after years of loose oversight by the Securities and replacement Commission, they're now faced with tighter regulations imposed by the Federal retain and they are subjected to Federal Deposit insurance Corporation oversight.

The Golden Years of investment Banking

A quick historical tell of investment banks will serve as a backdrop to the events that led to their downfall.

Independent investment banks have been colse to for a long time, but originally they were small secret partnerships that earned most of their money from offering corporate finance and investment advice, as well as some broking and other services. If you had walked into one of their offices and looked around, you might have mistaken it for a large law firm.

The success of their business model depended on the trust built through long-term relationships. There wasn't much money at risk in the early days because the firms operated primarily with the partners' own money. That meant there weren't vast sums ready to gamble on risky ventures with immoderate leverage. But the lack of working capital and a desire to orchestrate splashier deals, motivated the firms to go communal in the late 90s.

The Downfall Begins

With more capital in the coffers and a growing entrance to low cost, short-term debt, managers started to make larger, riskier capital bets-most recently those troubling and toxic mortgage-backed securities.

The regulations that had once separated investment banks from primary banks were no longer in place. That opened the way for big global banks like Citigroup and Jp Morgan to start competing with Wall road for what had traditionally been the domain of the investment banking business. This forced Wall road firms to advance their services, to use more leverage and to take even bigger risks.

When those risks led to profits, the dealmakers were rewarded with outlandish bonuses and the wheels were set in request for retrial for bigger risk-taking. Throw patchy government regulation into the mix and you have, as the saying goes, a formula for disaster.

Before long, major Wall road firms were leveraged three or four times more than accepted banks, yet they still operated under far less stringent regulations than the banks.

It wasn't until the financial urgency reared its ugly head in mid-2008 that the U.S. Fed stepped in and for the first time, allowed investment banks entrance to their discounted funds. Then when the credit urgency hit, extremely leveraged Wall road firms like Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs found themselves in even deeper trouble. They'd already suffered huge losses with their hedge funds and high-risk ventures, but their immoderate leverage compounded their problems as the credit urgency stripped them of the capability to raise the further capital they needed to survive.

The Outlook for Wall Street

What's the outlook for those working on Wall road now? No doubt there will be less excitement and no more of the huge bonuses that dealmakers had grown accustomed to. But there are bigger concerns about whether the U.S. Will lose its competing edge and the capability to allege its Power status in the global financial system.

Some of the best and brightest might pull up stakes and head for better opportunities in the burgeoning Asian Markets, or they could flip over to the unregulated Hedge Fund market-at least for as long as those funds administrate to survive. Thousands of Hedge Funds are going out of business, bringing serious grief to investors like the huge communal pension funds, foundations and endowments that have poured billions of dollars into these secret partnerships.

If there is any good news in this economic fiasco, it's this: Main road stands to at last benefit from a better regulated Wall Street. With a more transparent financial system, a firmer foundation and a stronger business model, there might be a promising outlook for more carport and consistent growth.

Should I Trust a Fortune Teller to Read My Future?

How to

"Can a fortune teller precisely predict my future?" "Should I trust a fortune teller?" Those are the kinds of questions people ask me when they learn of my great interest in mysticism and the occult. I would often tell them about my spicy caress visiting a fortune teller when I was a teenager.

It was a warm summer evening. My friends and I were looking for some excitement in the last days of our vacation before we started high school. So we decided to go to the local fairground and have fun. I was wearing a tank top and shorts, and was barefooted - my beloved outfit even to this day. We came across a tent with a sign in the front saying "Have your fortune told by a world noted fortune teller." I thought that was interesting. I didn't believe in any of that stuff, but being an adventurous and rebellious teen I wanted to go in and find out what it was like visiting a fortune teller. I was even thinking of development fun of the fortune teller, request them some weird questions.

Futuro

My friends were more concerned in trying their luck on winning some stuffed animals in the game arcade. So, I went into the tent by myself. The fortune teller was a middle-aged woman dressed like a Gypsy, wearing a colorful gown and headscarf, and all kinds of strange jewelry. She looked rather comical, and I couldn't help giggling. I quickly covered my mouth and pretended to cough.

How ot Should I Trust a Fortune Teller to Read My Future?

The fortune teller greeted me, "Welcome, young lady. Have a seat, I'll be right with you." So, I sat down and propped my feet up on an additional one chair. "Hey, get your dirty feet off my chair!" yelled the fortune teller. I was a bit startled and said, "Oops, sorry mam." Glancing at her stern face, I tried hard not to giggle again.

She pulled the chair and sat at the table facing me. Before even request me any questions, the fortune teller summarized my emotional state at the time. She said I just broke up with my boyfriend whom I considered the love of my life, and she sensed a deep sadness within me. I was stunned. How did she know? Before I had a opportunity to recover, she went on to tell me that I would not get back with him. I was wholly devastated, as I was hoping she would say the opposite.

I was giggling a tiny ago, and now I found myself sobbing in front of the fortune teller. To make matters worse, I didn't have any tissue and neither did she. So, I had to wipe my tears and runny nose with my shirt. How embarrassing! I felt like the fortune teller turned the table on me. I was planning to make fun of her but as it turned out, I was the one who felt humiliated.

Nevertheless, the fortune teller showed some compassion. She tried to relieve me and told me that the universe had something best in store for me. She said I should let my old boyfriend go because I was soon to meet my real soul mate. This handsome man and I would get married and have children, we would drive a big van and live happily by the ocean. I didn't precisely believe her though, as I thought she was just saying those things to make me feel better.

As I met back with my friends surface I told them it was a great experience. "This Gypsy fortune teller looked into a giant crystal ball and told me I would meet my Prince Charming, and we would live happily ever after." We all had a good laugh and continued our fun at the fairground.

The events that took place following my visit with the fortune teller were rather amazing, if not bizarre. A few months later I heard my old boyfriend got back with his previous girlfriend and married her. Shortly thereafter, I did meet an additional one guy. He was a few years older than me and was precisely gorgeous. We had a very passionate relationship. However, there were a few things about him my parents didn't like and they disapproved of our relationship.

The fortune teller's words kept ringing in my ears, however. Although I didn't believe her in the beginning, deep down I kept hoping she was right and this guy would be the love of my life. So I decided to leave my parents and run away with him. We lived together in his beat-up old van that he parked near the beach. It was a lot of fun in the beginning, and I was having the time of my life.

One day I found out I was pregnant. My boyfriend freaked out when I told him. Since I was still a minor, I couldn't get an abortion without parental consent, and he said he wasn't ready to have a child. Being scared and confused, he took the easy way out and left me. So much for being a soul mate. So, I decided to have the baby and my parents were gracious sufficient to let me Move back in with them, although my dad precisely let me have it.

So, did the fortune teller's predictions come true? Yes, in a twisted sort of way. Would I go see an additional one fortune teller to have my hereafter told? Most likely not. I believe we shape our own lives with our thoughts and actions. Today my tiny daughter and I are living our lives to the fullest, and believe good things all the time lie ahead of us. We don't need a fortune teller to read our hereafter since we know all is well.

Yes, there are legit fortune tellers and psychics who can foretell your hereafter based on the vibrations that they are able to detect, and I can't discredit them. Some people find relieve in hearing of their good fortune, and that in itself will set their vibration to a higher level. However, as I said, I personally believe we have the extreme control over our own lives.

So, the decision whether or not to see and trust a fortune teller is wholly yours. Should you determine to see one, you need do your homework first so you don't fall prey to scam artists who are just after your money.
